Shared Route Monthly Update, June 2007

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to bring you the very first-ever monthly Shared Route
update! Since I've never sent out a monthly update, I could
technically tell you that we started a business called Shared Route,
except that you all already know that. I'll just let you know about
the juicy stuff that's been goin' on.

CURRENT OPERATIONS
Our three main drivers at the moment are Sam, Matt, and Ulysses, who
cover Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays respectively, and are doing a
great job! Thanks to them and the other drivers: Summer, Ben "Sauce,"
Raymond, as well as Benjamin and myself. We're so happy to have their
friendly smiles be the first one you see as you step aboard our
shuttle. If you want to tell them how much you appreciate them, check
out our "Contact Info" page. (http://www.sharedroute.org/contact.html)

We get most of our biodiesel from Sequential Biofuels, which sells at
several pumps around the Portland area, and makes most of their
biodiesel from "WVO," or Waste Vegetable Oil.

STUFF HAPPENING
We've been putting the bus to good use, even when it's not the
weekend. For City Repair's Earth Day festival (Saturday April 21), we
shuttled people between the event at Woodlawn Park in NE Portland, and
People's Food Coop in SE Portland.

We're even driving around some rock stars- Rock 'n' Roll Camp for
Girls kids get to their music spot every week aboard our lovely
shuttle.

This year's Village Building Convergence was a great success, and
we're proud to have been a sponsor of this event (May 18-27 in
Portland).

KOL HA-KAVOD- All the Honor
This Month's Kol Ha-Kavod goes to Benjamin Koenigsberg, who was
written up in the Portland Mercury as "Employee of the Week."  Excerpt
from the article:

PHIL: "It sounds like a Portland living room on wheels."

BENJI: "Yeah. We also like the idea of playing music from the cities
we serve. So, if you're in a band, we like to encourage people to
bring their CDs and make requests of the driver. Or, put up fliers
onboard for your events. And bring copies of your zines to leave
onboard!"

Inspired by our friends at the Girls' Camp, we're gonna keep on rockin'.
And we know that you will too.

See you on the bus!
